The Siena Hotel located in beautiful Chapel Hill, North Carolina?Named after the gentle Italian city cradled in the northern hills of Tuscany, The Siena Hotel captivates guests with the aromas, ambiance, delectable cuisine and personalized service of her namesake. Modeled after a traditional Tuscan villa, spacious guestrooms are accented by Renaissance inspired artwork, overstuffed chairs and sofas, generous armoires and classic French doors opening onto European balconies. Perfect for both business and leisure travelers, the hotel offers a warm, comfortable atmosphere for retreats, business meetings and romantic getaways.

Fueled by a desire to share the love of Italy with the people of North Carolina, The Siena Hotel and Il Palio Ristorante opened on October 18, 1987.  The exuberant spirit of the Sienese is contagious", says General Manager, Anthony Carey.  We have always loved Italy because of its warm people, beautiful landscape and delicious foods."

Hakan/Corley and Associates of Chapel Hill created the original architectural design of the hotel and Joyce Wynn & Associates of Dallas, Texas developed the basic interior design. Meticulous care is given when selecting the furnishings, the origins of which span the globe. Among the furnishings are mahogany chairs which are handcrafted in the Italian Alps, and an antique credenza which was made in the foothills of the Dolomite Mountains of northern Italy.

07 Nov 2011 Il Palio Day As A Chef Package!

Sara spent the day working with our Executive Chef Adam Rose in the kitchen of our Il Palio Restaurant yesterday! As a fourth grade teacher in Holly Springs, NC Sara is absolutely passionate about cooking and was thrilled with the opportunity to join the Siena’s culinary team through our “Day as a Chef Package”. She received our “Day as a Chef” package last year during the Flight of Hope Auction Event and has been looking forward to it ever since.

Sara mastered the art of rolling out pasta and making our homemade ravioli, chick pea pesto, and stock! She also learned how to properly butcher meats, and more!
Sara’s day ended with a relaxing 6-course dinner in Il Palio Ristorante with three of her friends. “I’m excited to cook everything, but I think I’m more excited to eat!”
You too can become a chef for a day and apprentice with our talented culinary team. Please click here for more information on Il Palio’s, Day as a Chef Package!

31 Aug 2011 Client Appreciation Cooking Demo at A Southern Season

Wanting to relax and reconnect with some of our frequent clients, the sales team at the Siena Hotel organized a small get together at A Southern Season in Chapel Hill for a cooking demonstration.  The talented culinary team at A Southern Season did an outstanding job that was absolutely delicious!

They kicked off the 3-course dinner with a roasted vegetable salad, and then onto a main course of creamy spinach fettuccini with grilled shrimp and finishing off the scrumptious meal with an incredible molten chocolate cake!

It was so fun getting to spend time and kick-back after a long day at the office with some of our clients. We also got to learn some new recipes and cooking tips! Thanks everyone that came and can’t wait to do this again in the future!

02 Aug 2011 UNC Chapel Hill Move-in Weekend

UNC Chapel Hill Move-in Weekend!

UNC Chapel Hill & Duke University move in weekend is just around the corner! It feels like just a few weeks have past since we celebrated graduation. Where did the summer go? Time flies as you get older… but I’m not getting any older, so it must be the heat.

As the reservation calls come in we are happy to say that The Siena Hotel has been a home for traveling Carolina families for over 24 years. We enjoy seeing each new freshman face each year as well as those graduating seniors! In 2009, we developed a program especially for these parents and family members to continue that dedication.

The program is very easy to use and most importantly, free. As the number of overnight stays increase, the more incentives a member receives. Examples of these incentives include discounted rates in both the hotel and Il Palio, quarterly newsletters, receptions, drawings for prizes, and much more.

If you are interested in learning more about this program please click here or call us at 800-223-7379. We look forward to see you soon!

Sincerely,

Anthony Carey
General Manager
